Why do I need an appointment? Why do I need to count my items? Why do I need to iron the clothes I want to sell? Can you tell if a clothing item has been ironed? Why do I have to freshly launder the clothes I want to sell? Can I bring in what is left after my yard sale? |

We schedule appointments so we can cram the most sellers into one day as possible. We like to have a seller come in on the hour, or half hour, depending on how much they are selling. Time efficiency is important to us, and we do not like to make a seller wait a minute longer than necessary for their money. Also, we like to know what is coming in every day, so we can better inform our customers who are looking for a specific item. |

Why do I need to count my items? We require an item count to schedule an appointment so we can properly space the sellers, ensuring that there is little unnecessary waiting. Also, since we do not consign, an item count is helpful in our estimations of how much cash we will pay out on any given day. |

Why do I need to iron the clothes I want to
sell? On most buying days we have over 500 clothing items being sold to us. If the seller does not press their own clothing, we could never have the manpower to iron all the clothing that comes our way. And our quality control standards will not allow us to put a clothing item out for sale that is not pressed. Therefore, ironing is our most "pressing" issue for one who wants to sell to us. When clothing comes in pressed and perfectly prepared according to our instructions, the seller has a minimal wait and receives the highest possible payment. One the other hand, if clothing comes in not ironed and not prepared according to our instructions, the buying process is inefficient and ineffectual. Un-pressed clothing is usually not purchased, or paid considerably less for, since we then have to pay someone to iron them. If the point of selling to us is to receive the most money possible, then ironing is the key to the cash |

Can you tell if a clothing item has been
ironed? Yes! We work with clothing all day long, and there is a marked difference between a clothing item that has and has not been ironed. Ironing can make an average-looking clothing item look brand new again and ironing makes a huge difference in the presentation of the clothes one wants to sell. This is precisely why we will not put an un-ironed clothing item out for sale. |

Why do I have to launder
the clothes I want to sell? Odor is a huge factor when we buy clothing. If a load of clothing does not smell freshly laundered, we are very hesitant to buy any of it. Our quality control standards make it hard for us to put any clothing item out for sale that smells bad. We imagine a customer selecting a cute little outfit and catching a whiff of mothballs, and putting the item back! Clothing that smells like mildew, cigarette smoke, or just plain bad are not what we, or our customers, want to buy. |

Can I bring in what is
left after my yard sale? Please, no! Yard sale leftovers are scary! When a load of clothing comes in that we are having a struggle with to find a sellable item, we invariably find an over looked price sticker. If an item did not sell at a yard sale, it will not sell in our store either. There is the rare exception when one has beautiful name-brand clothing in a yard sale and has priced them too high, therefore having leftovers. But in most cases, we request that clothing be brought to us before a yard sale, or not at all. |

Why are you so
picky??!! We are proud to be picky, and every one of our customers is glad we are picky! Our quality control standards are extremely high. We buy only items that we are sure will quickly sell. Our customers are looking for current, trendy, new-looking, preferably name brand clothing. Because we are so selective with what we buy, our customers have a store full of only good stuff to choose from. There is no searching through stained, outdated, or flawed clothes in our store, because it's all good! Our customers keep coming back because we are so picky about what we buy, and that is what staying in business is all about. Also, because we do not consign, we have to be very careful to not be stuck with un-saleable merchandise. A consignment shop can simply give back unsold items to their owner, with no financial detriment. We do not have that luxury, so if we sense an item will not sell quickly, we must pass on buying it to ensure that we remain in business. |

How do you know how much
to pay me? We pay based on condition first, brand second, and preparation third. If an item is brand-new looking, name brand, and perfectly pressed and prepared, then we pay exactly half of what we will sell the item for. The percentage of payment decreases as condition, brand, and preparation decreases. Also, we are much less likely to have to mark down a name brand item, so we are able to pay a higher percentage on what is most in demand. |

Can I drop off my items? We prefer the seller to be present when we buy in case a question arises, and so items that we have chosen not to buy are quickly removed from the store. Drop-offs require two trips to our store instead of one. If the seller's items have been prepared properly, the buyer can check in over 100 items in under an hour. We believe the wait is short, and the seller leaves with any unsold items and their cash rather quickly. Drop-offs only cause confusion and delays. |

Why does furniture have
to be assembled? Firstly, we must safety-test all cribs before we can sell them, and this we cannot do until a crib is assembled. We test for sturdiness and side-rail security, as well as spindle spacing. Also, in our first year of business, we bought 7 cribs we could not sell due to missing pieces and hardware. We quickly learned that when one says, "It's all there", it is not always so! We must see that the crib is indeed complete and safe before we can pay for it. |
